Family: I have two children- a daughter April,17, a senior at Glynn Academy, and son Drake, 16, a sophomore at Glynn Academy. Years in the Golden Isles: I have lived here for 31 years, but started coming to visit my grandmother for the summers in the early 70s. I loved it so much as a child that I could not wait to move here myself. It is such a wonderful place to raise children, and the beauty of the island is breathtaking. Occupation: Insurance agent at McGinty Gordon and Associates and a server at Tramici. Favorite Christmas activity to do in the Golden Isles: My two favorite Christmas traditions are taking the children to see Mr. Spencer’s light display in Sea Palms, and going to see Santa Claus on the fire truck Christmas Eve. He used to stop at our driveway when Glynn Haven Baptist Church was still here but now we walk up to Thrive to see him. What is one thing that every visitor must do before leaving the Golden Isles? Spend the day exploring the beauty of the island and then come see me for dinner at Tramici!! Describe your perfect Saturday: I love college football, so my favorite Saturday would be spent in a stadium, preferably Death Valley, watching the Clemson Tigers, or the Swamp, watching the Gators. My favorite color is orange but it may soon change depending on where my daughter chooses to go to college. Her top two choices are Georgia and Alabama. A local you admire and why? Harriet Jones. Harriet is my rock and has been such an inspiration to me both as a mother and a woman of faith. She has spent many hours pouring into me and many other women at the Ladies Bible Study. Personally, I would be a totally different person if it were not for her. Her example, guidance and wisdom are life changing and exemplary. Favorite landmark in the Golden Isles: Since I was a child, my favorite place on the island is the Village. I have seen many changes there over the years but the feel has always remained the same. I love going out on the pier to enjoy the view and then walking through all of the cute shops.
